IT'S ALL THE BUZZ

Happy Halloween! Ethan and I had a really action packed afternoon today. We headed over to the Wildlife Experience, a local kids museum that Grandpa Steve was a trustee of, to enjoy their Halloween festivities. (Thanks for hooking us all up with tickets Grandpa!). We went with my friends Merideth Likes (and her 3 kids) & Cami Hoff (and her 3 kids). What a party.

The kids really loved the display that allowed them to uncover giant bones with the use of brushes - it was the only time Ethan screamed in protest when I made him leave. He and his friend Nate had a lot of fun together (and they also may have been responsible for a slight mess on the floor behind them - discovering bones is REALLY exciting & must require the flipping of brushes).

Once we had hit up all the booths for a little trick-or-treating, we headed off to the ballroom full-o-crafts. The museum staff went all out - there must've been 10 -12 + craft stations (some with the potential to be VERY messy with the number of miniature people involved). Everyone had a fabulous time - the kids couldn't make their way from station to station fast enough.

Ethan particularly loved the craft tables where treats were involved - decorating a sugar cookie, making a popcorn hand, lollypop ghost & lollypop spider. Since the other crafts were a little too advanced for Ethan, we spent the remainder of our time at the educational booth where they had a few live critters that the kids could feel, along with snake skins, animal furs, tusks, bones etc. The real things didn't intrigue Ethan quite as much as the shark puppet, which he played with for quite some time. Anything to keep a toddler happy.

On our way home, we made a quick stop off at SDI, one of Scot's offices, to say hello. Ethan hasn't been in there to visit since last Halloween, so everyone was anxious to see how much he'd grown & some of his new tricks. Ethan didn't disppoint - he did his animal sounds (multiple times), some sign language, and much much more. He even gave himself a tour of the ultrasound room (while I was talking with one of the Radiologists) & found some buttons that were REALLY enticing. Thankfully the ultrasound tech was not far behind, or we might not be welcomed back there in the near future. ( : Ohhh, how Ethan loves buttons. We were sad to have missed Linda (Scot's assistant) today. We promise we'll make a special trip into the office to visit soon.

After the festivites of the day & the trunk-or-treating last weekend, we decided to bail on trick-or-treating with Ethan tonight. It was too cold & we already have more candy than we need. He'll never know the difference. He did want to stay in his costume, however, but he decided to trade out the bee hat for a pot lid that he held on top of his head while running around the house. He looked like a hyperactive asian bee...and he hasn't even had any candy. (He clearly doesn't NEED any).

what cute pictures. He's such a sweetheart of a bee. It sounds like you had yourself a great halloween. It sure is a different day now that we have kids, isn't it? I adore halloween even more now! :)
