DUCK-A-POO-LOOSA

That would easily describe the sidewalks we walked on today when we went over to Scot's office to feed the ducks & geese. There was a huge gaggle of geese today, most likely en route south, who made the duck numbers pale in comparison. Let me be the first to say that no pooper scooper could've cleaned up what they left behind. WOW. It reminded me of my freshman year of college when I lived in Raintree Apartments (that's where I got my first real introduction to duck droppings). It took all the effort I could muster to walk through with my toddler and keep his shoes clean. I was elated by this little victory.

Ethan loved feeding the geese. They gathered quickly around our feet on the sidewalk when they realized we were dropping food. We managed to slowly make our way down towards the water to encourage a little extra personal space. I've been a little wary of letting kids get too close to geese ever since a gaggle that we were feeding became really agressive & snapped at/chased my nephew Cade. It was a little scary at the time...apparently we had REALLY good bread. ( :

All in all it was a fabulous Friday afternoon activity. Scot was even able to join us, which was fun. When we ran out of bread, we walked around the ponds & sat in the gazebo for a little while so Ethan could watch the ducks/geese swim. He thought it was hilarious to see their little duck bums in the air when they went under for food (or whatever they do down there). It's great to see the world through the eyes of a child.

I just like that you used the word gaggle.
