BANANARAMA

Have I ever mentioned that I dislike bananas? Yup, it's quirky but true. It has something to do with the texture, the sound when people chew them & the film they leave in your mouth. I know my mother fed them to me as a child, and I'm sure I ate them - but the only person to ever actually witness me eating an entire banana since then is my friend Kathy Schultz (Johnson). The reason? We were stuck on an airplane, coming back from our roommate Shelli's wedding & I was absolutely STARVING. Believe me, it's something she'll hope to never have to see again. I thought I might someday outgrow the banana phase, but I recently gave them another try (one small slice) when my in-laws were over for breakfast, and I still don't care for them. At least I tried, that counts for something.

My dislike for bananas, at least in banana form (I like banana bread etc.) doesn't stop me from feeding them to Ethan, and he seems to like them just fine. All you banana lovers can breathe a sigh of relief. ( :

Ethan and I had to run to the grocery store this afternoon to get a couple missing ingredients I needed for dinner. As I've noted in past entries, he loves to "drive" the cart - typically unbuckled so that he can move back and forth between the steering wheels. While I was busy selecting some fresh produce - Ethan took the opportunity to make himself a little more comfortable. I've seen my fair share of people try to drive with their knees, but never with their ankles. Don't try this at home.

Ethan looks as if he were born to chill in the car cart just like that. It's nice that he'll stay in it and enjoy it so much. As for the bananas . . . props to you for trying one again and I'm impressed you feed them to Ethan.(:

I love it! That trip had many great things...but the banana eating was definitely a big highlight - second only to Shelli's wedding. :) I think banana's will always remind me of you.

Well, I guess you didn't come from the monkey heritage then. I was quite convinced that you had. I guess I will have to come up with another theory for your shinanigans!! Ethan is so talented, driving with his ankles at 18 months. Amazing. I love his Olympic warm up suit. I think he is definitely on the road to be an olympic athlete.
