TASTE OF THE FARMERS MARKET

Ethan and I went to the farmers market with Grandma Judie this morning. We had such success last week when we went in search of Palasaide peaches (which were delicious by the way), so we decided to make it an every Wed. morning event. As is apparent by the photo above, Ethan finds the farmers market equally full/filling (ba dum bum -ching).

We'll be able to feel the love of the farmers until the end of October (unless it snows before then...which doesn't sound quite as nice as farm fresh produce). Judie and I have yet to make it through the mile long line at the Taste of Denmark booth. Although we think it might be nice to sample the food of our ancestors, I opted for a photo in lieu of the line - which is almost the same as sampling, only fewer calories. Looks good though, huh?

My taste buds fell in love with a bakery that comes down from the Fort Collins area...they 've tantalized me with their tempting samples every week, but each time, I've fallen for their fresh focaccia. YUM.

On our way out of the farmers market, we stopped by the melon stand to pick up a Rocky Ford watermelon. The man who had given me a bag earlier (at my request) to capture Ethan's melon drippings was so thrilled by the adorable advertising - he picked out a nice watermelon for us & made Ethan a special canteloupe head souvenir. He requested that I bring him some photos of Ethan with his bag bib, which I'll make sure to have with me next Wed.
We didn't buy nearly as much this week as we did last week - but I'm sure we'll make up for that later. It all looks delicious, doesn't it?

Ethan was a few hours overdue for a nap, and since he only let out a few high pitched screams during our lunch with Grandma Judie, I allowed him to have a sucker on the drive home. He was so tired, as you can see, that didn't keep him awake for long.

I decided to plan dinner around the fresh focaccia, so Ethan and I had to run to the store to get a couple items that weren't available at the farmers market. Naturally, he was drawn to the suburban sized shopping cart. I'm not sure if you've ever tried to navigate through the grocery store with one of these things - but I had to do some 10 point turns in order to get through some of the aisles that had displays. Ethan was happy as can be driving with both steering wheels, and only screamed when he was removed from the cart. I consider that a successful trip to the grocery store.

He and Scot watched Elmo together tonight after dinner. I'm not sure how much of the show Scot actually saw through Ethan, but it's sure nice to see that they're so close. ( :

*P.S. as a follow-up to yesterday's entry of wishes, we had only one bowl of Dylan's water emptied today...and no whispers.
