We went to the park this afternoon to wear Ethan out before his nap. We had just raced down side by side slides when Ethan indicated that he wanted to go again. Thinking it might be easier than going all the way around to the stairs, I decided to lift him up onto the platform next to the slide instead. BAD IDEA. Ethan looked at the slide and then took off the other way. I tried to remain calm & focused on coaxing Ethan to one of the other nearby slides -which didn't work. Did I mention that there are multiple openings to the ground below where rock walls and other climbing apparatus allow older children to maneuver up to the highest platform?

While I was trying to figure out the fastest way up to Ethan, he climbed up onto the platform bench and was jumping up and down. NOT COOL. He was laughing, having a great old time and meanwhile, I was standing below him preparing to have a heart attack (oh yeah, and taking a picture). Lucky for him (& me), he didn't fall while I scaled the wall to rescue him. Sigh. We opted to spend our last few minutes at the park on safer, ground level activities.

ethan is too cute and seems all boy (hence the jumping up and down where he's not supposed to). can you guys come over & play? :) and great documenting of everyday stuff...you are, like always, a great narrator!
Glad you made reference to the fact that you were taking pictures while making this sound extremely urgent. That was my first thought. Looks like Ethan is in a bird cage on one of those trapeze bars. Looks safe to me. What were you freakin out about? Kidding. :/
