We caravanned with 2 of Ethan's favorite people, Grandma Judie and Grandpa Steve. Everytime we would stop the car and he would see Grandpa coming, he'd get a big smile and clap his hands with his arms outstretched in front of him, his not so subtle way of saying "I want you". We stopped in Rock Springs for the night - half way to Jackson Hole (yes, it's only 5 hours and 24 minutes into the trip, but it makes the car ride MUCH more pleasant if Ethan can get out and swim, play etc.). Did I mention that Ethan had only slept a whopping total of 10 minutes the entire day by the time we arrived at the hotel? Oh yeah, well - he managed to stay awake the ENTIRE DAY. NO NAPS. He was still being surprisingly good for a kid with no naps, but by the time we sat down for dinner, he was going faster and faster. After we ate, I took him down for a quick swim & then back to our room for a bath and bed. Everything seemed to be going my way, but when he was still going strong at 9:30 in his pack and play in the dark - I knew we were in trouble. He FINALLY decided he was tired at 9:50 and curled up with his blanket under one arm and his bear under the other. Sweet silence. Tomorrow will be VERY different & he'll take a good long nap - I feel it in my bones.
By the way, Happy 43rd Wedding Anniversary shout out to my Mom & Dad! Hope it's a good one.
We love you!
