OUR LITTLE MONKEY

I have been a little behind in my blogging this week...I was in Denver until late Wed. night (which doesn't explain what happened on Thurs. - Sat. but oh well). Here's a quick update of our fun filled week, and a lot of photos to make up for my absence. A picture is worth a thousand words, which is great cause otherwise I might end up writing a novel.

I've been calling Saturday of last week "Revenge of the Prunes". Ethan was a little plugged up, so I thought prunes might be the answer. He love them, but in the end, I did not. The color of prunes is one thing when it's going in, but it's far less enjoyable when it's coming out all day long in the form of spit up. We saw prunes morning till night, but it didn't help to unplug anything. I must've changed Ethan's clothes (and mine) & bibs half a dozen times. The moral of this story is to save prunes for days when we don't have to go anywhere. (He smeared them up his face when he went to itch, it looked far worse than this when we finished).

Ethan and I stayed with Scot & his parents in Denver last Sun. through Wed. We did a little ward shopping in Castle Rock, which is where we're looking to move once our house sells. Ethan had a lot of fun with his Grandparents (which comes as no surprise). Judie & Ethan developed a special form of "communication" which consisted of Judie breathing in and out quickly a few times & Ethan responding with the same. He was so proud of himself for catching on and he did it every time he saw Grandma, it was hilarious. Ethan and Steve communicated through rocking front to back. I'm beginning to think that Ethan is a bit of a performer, I wonder where he gets that...

On Halloween, I dressed Ethan up in his costume & took him to visit the people in Scot's office. He was a hit & was so good even though he was exhausted. That evening, we ended up going out for pizza instead of trick or treating (for obvious reasons). Here are some photos of Ethan in his costume at the Woolley's & one of Ethan & me at our Ward Harvest party. I'm not very objective, but I think that's a pretty cute little monkey.

Ethan has been such a strong little guy since he was born, but Scot and I are beginning to worry about our little Sampson (minus the long hair of course). Yesterday we put Ethan in his swing, to "hang out" for a few minutes. At first his chair was reclined, but he kept straining to pull himself up, so we thought he wanted to sit more upright. We adjusted his seat on the swing and put him back in - which in hindsight doesn't seem to have been such a good idea. Thankfully they have safety straps on these things. Let's just say this does NOT rank on my list of favorite new tricks. Ethan is an inch away from completing his first back to front rollover. I'm convinced he'll do it tomorrow without a second thought. I bet he'll be mobile by Thanksgiving, so look out Christmas ornaments, here comes trouble.
