This morning while eating breakfast, Ethan decided that he liked nodding. He would nod his head and I would nod back, which he loved of course. After a while, I thought I'd ask reasonable questions he could honestly answer, like "Am I the best mom in the world?" and he would nod yes. (Tricky, I know). He usually stopped nodding long enough to eat spoonfuls of peaches and oatmeal, but on this occasion he nodded just as the spoon was headed towards his open mouth. It didn't seem to bother him a bit...

It was another gorgeous day here & Ethan and I had lunch plans at Ranch Foods Direct (the big red barn) with 2 of my favorite former co-workers from the USOC, Trish Tulloch and Beth Bourgeois. Trish is moving to Wisconsin to work for Miller, she leaves this Sat. so we thought we'd get in one last lunch before she left. Ethan was a hit with the ladies - wait staff & management of the restaurant included...who doesn't love a cute baby? He was so good while we ate lunch, he drank some apple juice & played with toys while staring at Trish. It was fun to get
together with the girls. I'll sure miss having Trish here in Colorado, but I think she'll enjoy living in the land of cheese & the job will be a great new experience for her. Thankfully Beth is still here to meet up with us for lunch from time to time.

Ethan missed a few naps today but was still going strong when we left our lunch, and finally fell asleep when we were a few miles from home. He woke up when I was getting him out of the car & he stayed awake for a few more hours before finally deciding that he really WAS tired and needed a nap. He doesn't like to miss out on anything.
A few of Ethan's favorite things to date: Dad singing the ABC's (he gets the biggest smile & laughs, and not because of Scot's singing...), remotes & phones, giving mom hugs and kisses, reading books, getting tickled, being outside, sitting up, playing with toys & oh so many other things. I can't wait for some of you to see him at Christmas (or any other time you'd like).
