JUST ANOTHER DAY

It's been quite a day. This morning the wind was whipping around like crazy, and after putting Ethan down for his morning nap I noticed that one side of the b-bq cover was blowing off. I was barefoot and still in my PJ's, but I knew it wouldn't take long, so I stepped out onto the back patio, secured the cover and went to come back in only to find that the door was lock. (I think our realtor must have locked the handle portion of the door just to make sure things were secure). I knew I could get in through the keypad on the garage, so I set off around the house. There was some tumbleweed in my path, which I somehow managed to step on & the garbage can was pressed up against the gate which made my quick escape much more difficult. I finally got things figured out and was back in the house in no time picking the tumbleweed prickers out of my foot. I'm glad there weren't any neighbors outside to see me...it wasn't pretty.

Today was a day of errands. We took Dylan to the vet to update his vaccinations (which is a story in and of itself), went to pick-up some bread at Great Harvest, stopped by the bank and then went to visit some of my former co-workers at the USOC. Ethan was extremely popular in the office. For whatever reason, he was selective with his smiles, but enjoyed every bit of attention he received. We didn't stay long, but everyone requested that I bring him back again soon so that they could play with him. Once we hit the car I was all over Ethan with Purel...no offense to my former office mates, but I didn't want to take any chances. Apparently he was starving when we got home...

My former roommate Brandi and her daughter Savannah stopped by tonight to drop off a book for Scot. It's hard to believe that Savannah will be a year old next month - crazy how time flies. Ethan loved playing with Savannah, they were so cute with together. We're sad to see Ken and Brandi move to Texas, but we're hoping they'll be back in the not too distant future...they're our closest friends here.

It's snowing here tonight - lightly, but still snowing. It's supposed to be freezing tomorrow with more snow, but Ethan and I will have to brave the storm to hit the grocery store, go VTing & make a special dinner for Scot to celebrate our anniversary. I should just make soup and hot chocolate...wouldn't THAT be an interesting surprise.
I'm off to bed.
