ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS

Tonight for FHE we went to Wahoo's for dinner and then to Toys R Us to make a wish list for Santa. Ethan insisted that he wear one of his fire helmets in to dinner and handed Scot one of the other ones. Everytime Scot went to take it off, Ethan would say "Dad, you need to put your fire helmet back on." I wonder what all the other Wahoo guests were thinking...I know what I was thinking (better him than me).

Ethan seemed drawn to two major things - a gigantic train set on a table that had levers that moved up and down...very mechanical, and a huge firetruck with removable ladders. Hmmm, Santa has his work cut out for him this year. Looks like either way, we're going to have to start storing some more of Ethan's toys up in his own room instead of in the family room. Before we left Toys R Us, he insisted upon driving the Mickey Mouse car. He waved at Brynn the entire time trying to make her smile and laugh. It worked. ( :

Brynn's requests were simple tonight, milk and sleep. I think she'll be asking Santa for something special to cuddle with - in addition to mom.

After I got Brynn and Ethan ready for bed tonight, I laid Brynn in her bed while I brushed Ethan's teeth. We then went back in so Ethan could say goodnight. He said "Can you get her out so I can hold her for a little while mom?" Naturally, I couldn't resist that so Ethan jumped up on my bed and patted his lap and said "You can set her right here on my lap." Brynn squeeled and gooed at Ethan and he kept saying "I just love you. Aren't you so cute." It was a precious moment watching those two little spirits interact. They truly do love each other, for which I am grateful. That's what I'm thankful for this Thanksgiving - amazing kids that love each other, and me, despite my faults as a mother...and a wonderful husband who does so much for all of us.
