ONCE THERE WAS A...

Snowman.

Ethan and I got out there in the snow today and built a snowman together. We had a fabulous time, and Brynn was an angel - watching Ethan and me play through the sliding glass door. It was warm enough outside that I just put her in a baby chair by the door to watch and left it cracked open so that I could hear her. She had a great time "talking" to Dylan.

I must say that I was a little overly ambitious with the size of the snowman, given the weight of the snow. Ball one was not bad - because it didn't have to be lifted, and once it got to be too heavy to move, I knew that was as big as it was going to get. Ball 2 on the other hand was a different story. That thing was so SO heavy I thought for a moment that we were going to have to make the world's first napping snowman. After a few tries, I dug into my bag of musical wisdom snipits and pulled out the phrase - you can do it, put your back into it. Sure enough, we were in business. We polished things off with a face - rocks for the eyes and mouth (I've been told that the mouth should've had more rocks cause he looks a little "creepy" - but you're right...Thank you Aunt Sarah. I'll remember that next time when I have my ice pick handy...this wasn't just any old snowman, it was ICEMAN. I consider it a miracle that the face stayed in there at all). ( :
