OUT WITH THE OLD?

STORY 1: Yesterday, after going to get Ethan's haircut and running a few other errands, I could tell that Ethan was ready for his nap. While we were driving home, I reached back and grabbed onto one of his legs and said:
Me: I love these legs.
Ethan: Those are my legs. Those legs belong to me. You have your own legs.
I couldn't fight him on that. I must simply say, I adore my kids.

STORY 2:
I was sitting on my bed tonight watching a short pre-bedtime show with Ethan while nursing Brynn and here is the conversation that took place with Ethan:
Me: Sorry I've been a little frazzled tonight Ethan, will you please forgive me?
Ethan: yeah, sure mom - I forgive you
Ethan pauses and moves positions then says
"I'm sorry I was going to put you in my dump truck and dump it out mommy."
(I try to hold back the laughter while I thank him for his decision to keep me)
Ethan: Yeah, I'm sorry that I was going to put you in my dump truck and dump it out with all that other stuff.

So...it looks like I still have a job as Ethan's mommy - for the time being anyway. Hopefully he doesn't ever actually decide that I need to be hauled away in that dump truck of his.
