Yup, it's Christmas Eve & Ethan finally got to visit with Santa. I did take Ethan to visit Santa's shack previously, (they clearly do not called it that), but closed the gate & roped off the walkway right as we arrived with some lame excuse that Santa needed to have lunch. We almost had this problem again today, but they didn't use the expandable movie theatre rope to block off the path & the gate was still slightly open, so I so I broke the through & waited in line. Nobody told me that they were closed for lunch & I wasn't about to let my child shed tears on Christmas Eve over some mall Santa - we did that once before & it wasn't pretty. Another family walked through the gate behind us too, so I didn't feel guilty. A few minutes later, a teenage girl came out to close the gate again and told us to turn away any future late comers because "Santa has a sinus infection and really needs a break."Yes, that's right - Santa has a sinus infection...but go right ahead and set your child on his lap. Tis the season for giving - and apparently Santa was giving out a little more than most parents had in mind. Ethan wasn't nervous or worried about sitting on a strange man's lap, he loved every minute of it & cried out "Santa - HO HO HO - AGAIN!" as we headed off to the car. I calmly explained to Ethan that Santa had a sinus infection and we needed to get to the Purel ASAP - there was no time to turn back. I'd like to say that he accepted my reasoning, but alas, he's only a boy.
(P.S. How unhappy does Santa look in this picture? Sinus infection or not - at least fake a smile for the $13.00 printer quality picture).

This is the first happy kid on Santa's lap photo I've seen this year. Ethan is so tough. Hilarious that Santa is the grumpy one. Emma wouldn't get near Santa this year.
Seriously what's Santa's problem. Did he smell like beef and cheese? He probably sits on a throne of lies and that's why he has a sour face. But your little Ethan...wow! Ditto with Alyson, he is the happiest kid I have ever seen on Santa's lap. Walker didn't freak out, but he sure wasn't smiling. That picture is adorable.
Ha, I love Jamie's response... I bet Santa did smell like Beef and Cheese. Wouldn't you have a sinus infection if you had to smell yourself like that all day:)
Ethan looks so happpy! That is rare. I just like to smile, smiling's my favorite!
