While in Sacrament meeting today, Ethan was eating a delicious slice of clementine. About mid chew, he made a break-away up the aisle. Scot, was sitting closest, so he jumped to his feet to catch him before Ethan could make it too close to the stand. Ethan must've been having trouble swallowing the outer skin from the section of clementine because as Scot hooked Ethan around the stomach - a little more than the skin of the clementine came launching out of his mouth. I sprang into action & hustled to the bathroom for some papertowels & a quick laugh. Thankfully, I was able to get the small section of carpet cleaned up without leaving a trace. If people didn't witness the launch for themselves, it will be as though Ethan was never there.
My friend Allison and her family (who were right next to the "spot") quietly laughed with me as I cleaned, crouched next to next to their chairs. I wonder what the people on the stand were thinking...but I'll never ask. It wasn't one of our better moments in church, but I'm sure there will be many more experiences just like it in the future. *Might I note for the sake of Ethan's journal, that in his defense, he always has issues with the clementine skins due to the fact that he currently only has 6 teeth - & they're all in front. He does, however, have 8 other teeth trying to break through his gums as we speak, so this shouldn't be an issue for too much longer.
A couple more Ethan notables from today:
- When I peeked into nursery to check on Ethan, they were in the midst of snack time. Ethan was happily drinking water out of a miniature childs cup & then stopped to offer Rosie a "Cheers" (no words that I could see, just a clink of the plastic cups). So funny. I have no idea where he got that from.
- We went to see Grandma Judie & Grandpa Steve tonight. Towards the end of our visit, Ethan was interested in playing the piano, so we all went in to sing some good old kids Christmas music for him. Ethan danced around happy as can be while yelling "GUYS" to make sure everyone was watching him.
- When you ask Ethan what Santa says he replys "HO HO HO" and pats his tummy.

Those are cute Ethan notables! I love the "cheers" in nursery. He's a classy little guy. And I'm going to have to teach Walker what Santa says, that's adorable! And I need to do my tag soon. :)
Ethan is so darn cute! I love hearing about all the cute things he's saying and doing. Too bad we live so far away -- it'd be nice to see him doing some of those things too.
great stories. we have many church "moments" that aren't quite as cute!
Oh how I would love to be in your ward and watch all of the excitment. I say Ho, Ho, Ho to Ethan.
