BREAKING THE SILENCE
Scot had to give a talk in sacrament meeting today, so he of course he had to sit up on the stand. I tried to point him out to Ethan before the meeting started, but he didn't actually see him until the opening prayer had begun. It was at that moment that he started calling out "DAD!...DAAAAAAAAAADDDDDD...DAD!" I must admit, it was rather amusing (and I think Scot liked feeling like a rock star, though there were no autographs requested or given out after the meeting). Ethan stood up on the bench and enthusiastically waved to him & smiled throughout the first talk, and then as the novelty wore off he started getting restless. On my way out to the foyer, our friends Mark & Karen Brown stopped me & said they would take him so he could play with their grandson...so I actually got to listen. (I did hear Ethan questioningly call out "Mom?" a few times, probably wondering if I had left him for good, but he looked like he was doing just fine so I let it be. It was so nice of Mark to take him (he did
end up wandering around the foyer with him for a while. Scot did a great job on his talk - better him than me.
One thing I need to note for Ethan's sake - this morning when we came downstairs, he wanted to build a block tower (which isn't the note worthy part of this story), but today - he didn't want to push it over on his own, he wanted to give his monkey an opportunity to
get in on the fun. He first found a foot, which wasn't good enough, so he searched until he found one of the hands and then whispered "monkey, push". It was difficult for me to tell which one of them had more fun, but it certainly did give new meaning to the phrase "Monkey see, monkey do."

Those blocks really look like a lot of fun and it's nice that they don't have to take up so much room. That's great!
Kris, I think Monkey see, Monkey do would also relate to your blog about Ethan wiping the shopping cart with wipies just like you do:)
I am a fellow germ-a-phob, so I relate all too well.
