SAN DIEGO ZOO

Perfect day for the zoo. The weather was amazing - I know they were calling for 75 degrees today, and it may have even been warmer than that...not sure. The San Diego zoo is all it's cracked up to be. That place is HUGE and there are so many things that make it unique as far as zoos go. First and foremost, there are SO MANY TREES. They line the walking paths and create their own kind of forest, even from the zoo tram, you can't see much of anything through the trees. We decided to ride the tram first to scope out the zoo from above. Since we couldn't see much through the tops of the trees, we just enjoyed the ride over and back and then went off to rent a double stroller so we could tackle the zoo by foot. We loved every minute of it.

A few of the favorite things we saw today:
- the few week old baby panda. Brynn has been saying "Baby Panda" all day. It was absolutely adorable! Worth every minute of the wait in
line.
- Watching one of the zoo employees feeding the jaguar. WOW. You couldn't pay me enough to stick my hand (even if I was holding a ball of raw meat) up to a fence when the animal on the other side had teeth that large. NO WAY. I am glad that lady is willing though - it was cool to watch.

The kids loved it all (and Scot and I enjoyed ourselves too). By far, the best zoo I think I've ever been to - we'll definitely come back here again.

We stopped in the gift shop to buy each of the kids a t-shirt, Ethan chose a black one with a
gorilla face on it (I love the t-shirt, it's actually very cool), and Brynn (big surprise) chose the one with a baby panda on it. They're both thrilled with their souvenirs.

I don't want to forget this, so I thought I'd record this here...Ethan (and Brynn for that matter) is such an outgoing person to everyone. Since we've been here, it seems that everytime he introduces himself to people he says: "Hi. I'm a 3 year old kid." It makes me smile everytime. ( :

Hey, my son used to walk into every social gathering and announce MY age. I'd rather he'd say, "I'm a three year old."
