SAN DIEGO WILD ANIMAL ZOO

If you're making a choice between the two zoo options here in San Diego... choose the San Diego Zoo. The SD Wild Animal Zoo is cool too, don't get me wrong, but everything is so spread out, it takes forever to make your way through the zoo. The coolest thing about this particular zoo is that you get to see animals (some of them anyway) in a natural type of setting...like the giraffes, rhinos, caribo, antelope etc. were all roaming around, hanging out together - which is cool to see. They also had a brand new baby elephant that was just born in February...so cute. Otherwise, you can see a lot of the same stuff and so so much more in one small condensed zoo. We decided it would've been better to go back to the SD zoo today in lieu of this one...but we're happy we did it the one time. I did finally capture the Brynn/ Ethan loving moment that I've been trying to capture the entire trip. They are so cute with each other, but sometimes they love to be quite the opposite as well. I love moments like this - it makes being a mom the best job in the world. Aren't they cute?
When we got back, we tried to put the kids down for a nap (with no success..hence the time I have to blog). Ethan wanted to snuggle with Brynn because he says he "hasn't been able to snuggle with her for years and years." Ethan wanted to sleep in her
crib, so he climbed in and Brynn was in there with him for a while too. I finally took her out because there was a little too much loving going on - and then in the sweetest voice, Ethan said "Come here
teeny tiny little Brynnie."

In honor of the gigantic snowstorm that we missed in Colorado this week (hallelujah), tonight while we were at La Jolla's beautiful beach, Ethan built a sandman. It was more like a melted sandman, but at least he got the face in there. (see photo).

The kids love the beach and could play there for hours and hours and hours. Good thing tomorrow is strictly a beach day. I'm sure we'll come home wearing enough sand to fill
- a bucket (it was the obvious choice).
I love this vacation. It's been perfect.

(*NOTE: We rarely get family photos that include all of us. Tonight, I took some photos for a girl and her friend, and then asked for their help in return. It was nice of her to help, but she certainly wasn't a photographer - beggers can't be choosers).
