STANDING ROOM ONLY

Brynn is all about standing up these days...and even climbing up the stair between our family room and kitchen. She's a maniac - making new changes every single day. It's adorable to watch and she is so proud of herself.

I got my haircut today - finally. I hate to admit it, but I went 9 months...and I was long overdue. I went to a new stylist today, whom I really like, and came home with a sassy new do and color. (NOTE: The photo is a self portrait taken after wrestling with Ethan, so it's not in the best shape. Trust me, it's cute. It's a little A-lined in the back and I am loving the layers - it's a great cut). Ethan ran to the garage door when he heard my car pull in to the garage so that he could greet me. Scot loved the hair - but Brynn stared at me like I was a stranger. I may have sounded and kind of looked like her mom, but she still opted to stay in Scot's arms for a few minutes until she was sure it was really me. She ventured to me once or twice, but after looking at me for a second, she reached back for Scot. I guess that's a sign that I need to get myself into the salon more often.

We went to Five Guys for dinner tonight. Wednesdays are always eat out night at our house - I am a scout leader, so it always makes things overly crazy around our house when I cook dinner prior to rushing out the door by 6:45. I love Five Guys - it was one of my favorite spots to go in Old Town Alexandria with friends for a burger when I lived in DC, and have so many fond memories of that place. When they brought it to Colorado - I was overly thrilled, and have quickly converted Scot.

Now, for a quick Ethan update. He is so funny all the time, it's really hard to capture just how clever and entertaining he is. One of my favorite things Ethan has been saying as of late is "Ahhhh, darnit." and he even does the finger snap while swinging it in front of his body. I'm not sure where he got that - probably from one of his cousins while we were in Boise, but I must admit, it makes me smile everytime. Sometimes I've even had to hold back a laugh - like today when he asked if Brynn was going with me to get my haircut and I answered, "No, she's going to stay home with you."...yup, that even got an "Ahhhh, darnit", and laughter from Grandma Judie and me. ( : Cute Ethan. There isn't a sweeter boy out there. The other morning, he came into our room early and climbed up on the bed next to me to cuddle. He decided that he was more interested in going downstairs to find something to eat until I said I'd turn on a show for him. He reached his hand under my chin and gently patted my face and said "Ahhh thanks Mom, I knew I could count on you."

I love all the pictures and stories. Your kids are adorable. The haircut must be spectacular, as even given some "life experience", it still looks great! Good for you!

I do love the hair, though I realize that after a few months it probably looks a little different than this photo. It is so great to find a good stylist. Your kids are adorable as always. Ethan keeps me so entertained.
