This morning, right as Ethan woke up he asked if the Easter bunny had come to his house. It was a little extra early, but with church at 9, we had to get up anyway (just maybe not THAT early). I told Scot that if he wanted to be there to see Ethan with his basket, he'd have to get up too - so he rolled down the stairs with his eyes half open to watch as Ethan tore through the basket. The Easter bunny brought him more cars from the movie CARS (he received some of the other main characters on our trip to Boise), which he's been obsessed with lately, as well as a couple of my favorite childhood books - Tikki Tikki Tembo and Caps for Sale, and a little candy of course. The Easter egg hunt didn't take him long, but he loved every minute of it. Brynn missed out on the entire event - she was wise and slept in for another hour.I tried to get some pics of the kids in their Easter outfits together, but none of them were all that great.
We went to Grandma Judie and Grandpa Steve's for dinner tonight. It was a dual celebration - Easter & Great Grandpa Bob's 94th birthday. As we arrived at the party, I overheard this conversation between Grandma Judie & Ethan:
G: What are these? (pointing to Ethan's new clothes)
G: What are these? (pointing to Ethan's new clothes)
E: They're my Easter Bunny clothes.
G: And what are these (pointing to Ethan's feet), your Easter bunny shoes that make you go hop hop?
E: No, they're my church shoes that make me go to church.
We celebrated Grandpa Bob's 94th birthday today, and Judie made Grandpa's favorite birthday cake, chocolate angel food. Yum. What an amazing life he's lived thus far - he bought a brand new car at 93, still trades stocks, golfs, and keeps up with Grandma Jerri...and that's saying something. Happy Birthday Grandpa! We love you both, and feel so lucky to live close enough that we get to see you often.
We can't wait to celebrate the big 95 with you next year.
