IT'S APPARENTLY "MY JOB"

Ethan came downstairs after waking up from his nap and asked me if he could watch "a little show". After looking at the Tinkertoy explosion throughout the family room, this was our exchange:

M: Ethan, I'll let you watch a show while I make dinner if you can get this room cleaned up first.

E: (in his sweet voice) You can clean it.

M: You made this mess, but I'll certainly help you to clean it up

E: (He flashes me the most adorable smile and tilts his head slightly to the side and says, as reassuringly) It's your job Mommy. I'm going to sit here and watch you though.

He's usually so willing to help clean up that I was caught off guard by his comment, and quickly removed myself from the room so that I could laugh to myself. Where does he come up with this stuff? Just for the record, he did help to clean up, but only after foregoing the "little show" he wanted to watch, eating dinner, getting into pj's, playing "knights" and building a frame. Who needs to watch a show when you have such an active imagination?

Brynn was making messes of her own while she was in the office with Scot...I came back to see that she loves tearing paper just like Ethan did at that age. She'd tear the paper or crinkle it in her hands and laugh at each noise as if she was so proud of what she was doing. She's such a fun little girl.
