DAY AT THE PARK

Not much could've topped our afternoon of fun in the sun at a park with Ethan (and my friend Liz & her kids et.al.). We ventured out of the Castle Pines area, off to Englewood to an amazing park. By the time we got there and Ethan had a taste of all the new play equipment, he could barely sit still long enough to eat any of his Subway sandwich. He was ready to play play play, which is exactly what he did. Liz & 2 of the other mom's that met us there with their kids (both have kids that are friends with Liz's kids Lauren & Ben) had the pleasure of sitting in the shade, but no, not me - I was off playing with Ethan in the sandbox. I haven't graduated to the point where my child is old enough to run off and play without any parental supervision yet...but I didn't mind. I made sure that Ethan and I both were slathered with sunscreen & we were off to enjoy the surroundings. He really didn't need me there, but I have this phobia of letting him get out of my for too long (which is a good phobia, right?). Ethan spent most of his time playing with a group of boys in the sandbox, and lucky for us, someone had left some shovels and a couple pails that Ethan was able to play with. I was grateful for another great day of beautiful weather so we could spend some time playing outside surrounded by the blooming trees etc. because tomorrow we'll be stuck with all indoor activities with the cold & rain/snow they're expecting. I'm sure we'll survive.
