Ethan and I ran to pick up a few things at the outlets today. It was such a beautiful day that we loved walking from store to store enjoying the sunshine. After we'd hit a few stores, the novelty wore off and Ethan began to grow restless. He wanted to get down and run around in the stores - which is typically dangerous given the stacks of neatly folded clothing etc. that are in his reach (I know from previous experience). I thought that if I got him a little something special, he'd be able to make it through the remainder of our stops - so I bought him a new pair of sunglasses (to replace the ones he broke) & gave him a sucker. He sat in the stroller like this for the remainder of our shopping excursion...and might I say it drew a lot of smiles from other shoppers AND store workers. Now that's the way to shop. ( :
My sister-in-law, Becky, wrote a post today entitled "when I grow up." She posed the question of what occupations you might like to try if you could magically jump into a job without having to do any of the training, working your way up the corp. ladder etc. and have the luxury of being able to quit at any moment if you didn't like it (without having any consequences). This is a short sampling of what I came up with (though I'm sure with a little thinking, I might come up with some other things as well):
- Photographer
- Chef (I'd like to be able to whip up fancy stuff for some reason...)
- Writer (but not a technical writer, that's for sure)
- Interior decorator
- carpenter
- graphic designer
- Artist
- song writer
- acoustic guitarist (I'd just love to learn to play the guitar, maybe not for a profession but...)
- florist
- movie director
- fashion designer (cause I'm the farthest thing from that...)
- makeup artist
- Olympic athlete (it probably comes from being around them so much...though I'm still not sure what sport I'd choose).
Well, that about sums it up for me, for now at least. What are your dreams?

Broadway baby. Singer, dancer, whatever.
Love the photo! I'm going to start carrying suckers with me... although I fear they'll end up sticking in some pile of clothes in a store. It's worth a try. As for job, writer or textile designer.
I would hire you to be my chef!! Do I get a family discount though??
Love you!
Naturally - family discounts would apply...but only if you were willing to plow my back 40. ( : Love you back.
