SANTA'S LAP

We had a dress rehearsal for our Primary Christmas Nativity play today in preparation for the final performance for our Ward Christmas party tonight. To keep the kids focused, and on their best behavior (or a respectable type of behavior at least), our Primary President, Allison had arranged to have a "milk and cookies with Santa" event immediately following the rehersal. As the Primary Chorister, I naturally had to be in attendance, and ended up taking Brynn and Ethan with me so that they too could visit with Santa after the event. Aunt Sarah came along too, so that she could be of help to the kids in her primary class if needed, but she ended up chasing Brynn around the church the majority of the practice. She LOVED that. (Sorry Sarah).
Ethan and Brynn loved the cookies and milk and felt completely at ease while they were standing in line waiting to see Santa...but all that quickly turned to nerves when we approached his lap. Scot and I happen to be very good friends with "Santa" when he's not at doing his job. He knows our kids well, and when it was Ethan's turn, he called out to him by his full name. If only you could've seen the look of complete shock on Ethan's face - talk about priceless. I only wish I could've captured that.
Brynn wanted none of it....no offense "Santa" - she loves you every other day of the year. Here are a couple random pics to document their interaction this year - neither one of them sat on his lap long enough to get a good shot, but something is better than nothing, right?

I'm with Brynn. Just who is this guy who hates to shave and wears the same outfit everyday?
