FORT FUN

We just upgraded all the appliances in our kitchen, which means that we also have the added bonus of having access to extremely large boxes. Scot and Ethan took full advantage of them and built a fort together on Monday that has become the main attraction in our house. It's amazing what a couple rolls of duck tape, sweet skills with a box cutter & a little imagination will get you (Scot has clearly done this before).

Ethan acted as the job foreman and made sure that all measurements met safety standards and building regulations. ( : He doesn't refer to himself as a "hard worker
man" for nothing.
After only a few days, Ethan has already managed the following:

- a movie viewing of Mulan in there with Mom and Brynn on what he calls his "little DVDV player"
- taken all his afternoon naps in the fort
- started and ended each day playing in there, but really, who can blame him? I've added 4 large pillows to maximize comfort, and I wouldn't mind starting and ending each day in there myself. ( ;

We've been struck with the cold virus that has been going around - thankfully the more mild version, but colds none the less. Brynn was sneezing yesterday while Ethan was looking over the side of her pack and play and looked up at me with a laugh and said "Brynn is blessing at me." A wonderful blessing sent in his direction indeed.

Scot was out of town for meetings the past few days, so Ethan was doing all he could to be the man around the house. This morning, while I was working on getting Brynn and myself ready to go out for the day, I found Ethan making good use of his time by doing a self application of sunscreen. Way to go my little SPF buddy - now that's what I call total coverage!
