BRYNN'S BLESSING DAY

Scot gave Brynn an amazing blessing today. We didn't want to have to wait until next fast Sunday to bless her for fear that she might be able to walk herself up to the stand...she is closing in on 3 months afterall. Brynn managed to cry through the first half of the blessing and suddenly stopped mid way through. I was taking notes and thought that she had become enamored by the overhead lights or an overwhelming feeling of the spirit - but as it turns out, it was just the Bishop's finger in her mouth. Great trick, I only hope his hands were clean. ( :

We were lucky to have some of Scot's family with us for the blessing, Brynn's Great Grandma Jerri & Grandpa Bob Madden, Grandma Judie and Grandpa Steve, Aunt Marcia, Lizzy, JD, Leah, Daniel & Rachel. Ethan was thrilled to have some cousins around again (after leaving most of his Hansen cousins behind in Boise), and wasted no time showing his love for Rachel. I missed this initial tackle on the front lawn, but I did happen to see multiple other tackles. I'm glad Rachel was such a good sport with all the love that Ethan was dishing out. I'm pretty sure the laughter, cheering and flash photography egged Ethan on a bit - he's quite a performer.

Ethan and Rachel went upstairs while the rest of us were finishing lunch and after a few minutes, Ethan said he needed to show me something. I went upstairs to find Ethan (who, if you're not already aware, is a BIG fan of gloves of every variety) dressed up like this. He came down to show everybody else & when Grandma Judie asked him if the blue gloves were his flippers, he said "No, they're my waders - just like Daddy's". Ahhh yes, Ethan - our miniature fisherman.

Thanks all for helping to make Brynn's blessing day so wonderful. And a special thanks to Grandma Judie for making Brynn's beautiful blessing dress, it was just perfect. We missed having the rest of our family here with us, but hope you all know how much we love you!
