7/31 - It was a great day for a little swimming, so we packed up a picnic and headed off towards Pirates Cove. The kids had a fabulous time AND it was less than half the price of the Aspen Rec center, go figure. Ethan wanted to walk through the pools on his own, so I followed closely behind in case he went down...

which did happen a few times.
Ethan's first experience at Pirates Cove was like extreme sensory overload, not to mention -his first real experience in a huge party pool, which probably threw him off a little.

The second experience at
Pirates Cove was much more enjoyable than the first - this time he couldn't get enough. The lazy river didn't provide enough action & he kept trying to wiggle off the raft, so we opted to get out and go back to one of the larger play pools.
Grandma was playing with Ben in the water fountain portion of the park (which was right behind where we were

playing in the pool). Once Ethan realized she was there, he would make sure she was watching and then jump in from the side of the pool, just like he learned to do in swim class - Show off. ( :
