ALL SHE WANTED WAS THE MOON

Aunt Cara reading to Ethan, Ben & Audrey before dinner.

7/29 - We got back from Aspen this afternoon and it was nice to be home. Cara and her kids get to stay until Wed., which will give us an opportunity to do some more fun things together. The Woolley's kindly made a delicious dinner for all of us again - even though they should've bailed out and taken a nap. About the time we finished dinner, Brodie was in need of a walk & had many willing dogwalkers waiting for their opportunity to wear him out. In the time Audrey spent waiting to go on dog duty, she searched for the perfect moon rock - I assume she was looking for a rock similar to a large one we saw on one of our many walks in Aspen. Nothing fit the requirements, so surprisingly we went home without 1 rock.

We walked a great loop around the golf course that Grandma and Grandpa's house backs up to & Brodie had a hard time running as fast as the kids, but he gave it his all. As soon as there was a clearing that looked Ethan friendly, I got him out of his stroller and let him chase after the kids. He decided it was more fun to run the opposite direction so that I would chase him. He did a great job wearing himself out - which I knew would play out in my favor when bedtime arrived. The only other notable event from the walk would be the snake that slithered out of the grass as we approached the home stretch of our walk - it sent Cara into the air, but once we got a little distance between the group and the snake, we called the kids back to see it...they LOVED it.
