PERFECT DAY FOR THE PARK

We got a call today around 1pm saying that a realtor wanted to bring someone by to see the house between 2:30 and 3:30 this afternoon. I was lucky that our house had just been cleaned, so I packed Ethan and Dylan into the car and off we went in search of something interesting to do for a little over an hour. It was such a beautiful day here that I opted to take Ethan to the park for the first time. He's not old enough to go down the slides without assistance, and I knew Scot felt that Ethan was still too small to swing alone (he probably worried that I would start him out with an underdog or something), but I thought we'd at least get his feet wet (so to speak).

I ended up swinging with Ethan (not on the swing pictured - just for the record). He was unsure about the feeling of swinging and clenched onto me for dear life (it's a bit more intense than the baby swing at home, and there wasn't a fish mobile). Strike one. I tried him in his own swing with a very gentle push, but he didn't seem too thrilled about that either. (As you can tell from the photo, it wasn't just a nail biter, it was a hand biter). Strike two. We (more like I) decided to try him out on the slide (fully assisted, of course) and although he's appears to feel ok about it in the top photo, it must have been a lucky shot because he clearly expressed otherwise...Strike three. We left shortly after determined to try again another day.
We drove around the neighborhood for a little while to pass the rest of the time (honestly, it was more due to the fact that Ethan had fallen asleep and I didn't want to wake him up to get him up getting him out of the car - otherwise we would've gone shopping or something). All in all, it was a very enjoyable day.
I have almost finished my Christmas shopping - still a little left to do and we're down to 2 weeks till the big day (clearly not that impressive a feat). Thankfully Santa doesn't finish packing the sleigh until Christmas Eve. On that note, this little elf is off to bed to dream about sugarplums or whatever else decides to make an appearance.
