LIFE OF THE PARTY...

Friday, December 1 - Tonight we attended Mike and Liz Allen's holiday open house. We hadn't seen many people from our ward for almost a month due to weekend open houses etc. (not parties, which might be why our house isn't selling...something for our realtor to think about). Ethan has changed quite a bit since we last saw everyone - so upon our arrival someone asked how old he was now and I answered "a little over 7 months". Ellery Miller (the recently called replacement for Scot as Second Counselor in the Bishopric) didn't hear the word months and said "He's only 7 weeks? I thought he was older than that". Everyone started laughing - I made some sarcastic comment about how advanced he was for 7 weeks - but can you imagine? That would've been something for the record books & I would still be in the hospital recovering.

The party was fun - Ethan was amazingly good and partied well past his bedtime without any meltdowns, which was nice. My friend Andrea Atzbach asked if she could give him a Ritz cracker - and I told them that he was a little young, but they gave it to him anyway. He played with it for a minute and then, as all things do, it went straight into his mouth. He did fine with it (for the most part), but I think we'll wait to try that party trick again until he's a little older.

He seems to be getting a bottom tooth (front, right side), but nothing has broken the surface yet. We know it could be another month before it appears & we're quickly making the adjustment from lots of spit up to a whole lot of drool. I don't mind, drool smells much better than the spit up & isn't as colorful. He's really slowing down on the spit up these days and the rash on his neck is FINALLY clearing up. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the healing continues.
