Today we went as a family to see Toy Story 3. It was a fabulous movie - particularly for being the third and final movie in the series (I can't say the same for the likes of other movies like Shrek etc. which ended up taking a turn for the worse). We had all been laughing and enjoying every minute of the movie until the last 15-20 minutes when it took a serious turn. I looked over to see Ethan trying to be brave with a quivering chin & signaled for Scot to comfort him. Just as Scot tucked Ethan under his arm, his tears started flowing. Ethan was a wreck, and then he was rescued for a brief period of laughter and happiness before the tears returned. Talk about a tear jerker - by the end of the movie, Ethan wasn't crying alone... Sarah, Scot and I had joined him. Brynn was the only one with dry eyes (heartless). kidding, of course. There was no disclaimer that when viewing this movie, kleenex were a recommended. Sigh. It was a fabulous movie and a good reminder of how quickly childhood passes. Made me want to hug my kids and treasure the time with them even more - they're growing up way too fast. When we got home, we skyped with Gramma Lydia and Grampa Warren. Ethan told them all about the funny parts of the movie (which was hilarious to listen to), and then he threw one of his hands up in the air and brought it down to his knee and said "It's so funny. You've got to see it - it's just heartbreaking."
He has mentioned a couple times that he doesn't ever want to see that movie again because it was scary and too sad. Sensitive little guy - he gets that from his parents.

I love it. Hey, Toy Story 2 made me cry. That heartless girl leaving her toy cowgirl behind. I've only seen pieces of 3. Better get out some Kleenex!
