Ethan has been asking for the Imaginex Batman cave since his last birthday. (Oddly enough, it was offered to him FOR his last birthday - but he chose other things, and then shortly after his birthday, he started requesting the Batcave). He's been anxious about getting it for weeks now, and when he opened his gift he exclaimed "I've been begging for this high and low, and I finally got it." Sweet. I love getting that kind of reaction out of gifts.
Since we are going to have a bigger family party on Saturday, we decided to save the cake decorating until then and go with another dessert. He chose ice cream sandwiches, and trying to make it look more exciting, I put them in the shape of a 4 on the plate before I lit the candles. I know, it didn't make them look any more exciting, but at least I tried.
Grandma Judie and Grandpa Steve came over tonight for pizza, ice cream sandwiches and a small gift opening extravaganza. They got Ethan the Ben 10 Jetfire lego guy, which he was thrilled about. It's so nice to have Grandparents close by to help us celebrate.
As for the title of this post, it would seem that now whenever we sing Happy Birthday, instead of "...and many more- on channel 4", Ethan's version is "...and many more - we love you four". We're going with it.
Ethan's Quote of the day (or yesterday):
Ethan went out the front door by himself...I called to him to wait until I could go out with him and he turned around with a very serious face and said "But Mom, I'm a big 4 year old kid."
