ETHAN'S BIRTHDAY BASH

Tonight, we had a second birthday extravaganza in honor of Ethan. You can always have a better celebration with extended family on the weekend.

Ethan had requested a Batman cake for his birthday, as I mentioned in my previous post. I made the executive decision to go with a Batman bust (for multiple reasons: 1. I could stick with two 9x13 cakes, 2. I have a cutting board just large enough for two 9x13 pans to fit on and 3. I knew if I had to add legs, feet and hands - it wouldn't look good, nor would I be able to make it with the proper proportions).

When Ethan looked at the cake this morning, he said "hmmm, looks good. Maybe we could add another cake right here" pointing to where his legs would go.

Not going to happen dude.

He eventually got over the fact that his Batman cake would not have legs, and was really happy with the end result (thankfully).

Some of the extended Woolley/Madden family came over to help us celebrate. Aunt Marcia, Lizzy, John, JD, Daniel and Rachel came up from Colorado Springs, and Great Grandpa Bob & Great Grandma Jerri, Grandma Judie and Grandpa Steve came over...and of course, representing for the Hansen side was Aunt Sarah. ( :

It was a great birthday celebration, and Ethan felt a lot of love. Isn't that the most important part of every birthday?

Tonight, JD was throwing Brynn in the air, and she kept calling out through her laughs "Watch me Dylan...Dylan...watch me." Our dog, Dylan, is apparently a very attentive audience. ( :

Happy Birthday Ethan! We adore you and are so thankful to have you in our family.
