HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY BRYNN

Brynn turned 1 today. It's hard to believe that a year has already passed. Brynn is such a sweet addition to our family, and we can't imagine our life without her. We love you Brynn!!!

It also happens to be Aunt Sarah's 30th birthday today...so it's a big day for both of them. Here are a few highlights:

First and foremost, I had Sarah here to help me decorate the cake this time, which made things move twice as fast. Here are a few pics of the end result. 2 9x13 cakes & a bunch of cupcakes later (yes, 3 cake mixes total), we had this little masterpiece:

We had a big family party, dined on sweet pork burritos with all the fixings, opened gifts and ate birthday cake and ice cream. Unfortunately, Brynn got so tired, that she was ready to go to bed before we actually got to the cake portion of the evening, but after all the work Sarah and I put in to get that thing decorated, we made her stay up to enjoy it.
There were some tears, but she did stop crying when she got a piece of cake. I was so excited to watch her dig into the cake and get all messy, but that didn't happen. Brynn is the type of girl that carefully pushes little pieces of food or crumbs into her mouth that may be left on her lips while she eats. She was so tired, so we had to physically put pieces of the cake in her mouth to get her to eat it. Next year, we'll make sure we get to the cake portion of the evening earlier.

Scot decided that we should get Brynn a doll for her birthday, so Ethan picked Chloe (the brown haired doll) from Pottery Barn Kids instead of Sophie (the blonde, who looks more like Brynn). Brynn LOVED her new baby.
Aunt Marcia and family happened to give Brynn a doll stroller, which went perfectly with her new baby...as is apparent by this photo. Thank you everyone for helping us to celebrate Brynn's first birthday - and SARAH...HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY! I'm sorry that your milestone birthday wasn't more spectacular, but thanks for sharing your big day with Brynn. We love you!!

I love all the pics! The cake is darling -- but not as adorable as the people surrounding it!;)
I've been out of the blogging world for so long I haven't seen pictures of you all in a while. Hugs and kisses to all!
