SPRINKLERS

(AGAIN, PHOTOS TO COME - PRAYING FOR MIRACLES)

Ethan has been excited to bust out his sprinklers ever since we bought them, and today was a perfect day. It's sunny and warm, and he was bursting with excitement the moment I mentioned them. I got the kids both in their suits, set up the sprinklers, set Brynn down on the lawn & turned on the water (which was warm for the first minute or two thanks to the hose being outside)...I wanted to try and get a picture of Brynn her first time in the sprinklers, but she screamed almost the entire time. Could've been the fact that I just set her in the grass & turned on water that kept flipping her in the back, or the fact that instead of picking her up immediately, I proceeded to get my camera to capture the moment...yup, it could've been one of those things. Ethan was hilarious - after all the excitement, he ran through a couple times and then went to hide behind a tree to protect himself from the water. After a few minutes he was right in there playing and getting wet, laughing as he ran through time and time again. He mentioned numerous times that we'll have to get this out to play with when his cousins are in town next week. Naturally, I agreed.

When he felt he'd had enough, Ethan went and wrapped himself up in a towel so that he could get warm, and then proceeded in to the house when he felt he was dry enough. He kept laughing to himself as I was getting Brynn dressed again saying "Man, my pants are so cold - you gotta feel this mom". When I had pulled his dry shorts back onto him, he exclaimed "These are so warm". It's the little things that make us happy.

As we were walking up the stairs, headed for naptime, Ethan looks at me and says "That was surly an adventure", the phrase alone just made me smile, so I replied "it sure was wasn't it". Ethan says with a big smile, "That surely was an adventure, dear". I'm not sure where he got dear from, but apparently he recognizes that as a term of endearment. So cute this kid. I could tape everything he says...
