CHOICE AND ACCOUNTABILITY

Tonight we took Ethan to REI to get new Keens for the summer. We had such success with them last year, that we decided it would be a yearly purchase. Last year we chose blue...and I loved them. They still fit Ethan, but probably won't for long - so in the interest of buying early for selection, size and color, we added that to our family home evening activity for the night. Ethan and I had done some research online to see what the color options were this year, and he thought that the light green ones were his favorite. I loved the color, but was unsure of their versitility (even though I have a pair that's a similar color), so I tried to encourage a love of the blue again or a darker green or anything else (with the exception of purple & pink of course). When we got to REI tonight, what did he choose? Yup, the light green ones. We told him to choose...and now we're accountable for giving him the option to do so. Welcome to the summer of the light green Keens that currently don't match much of anything in his wardrobe (or more so coordinate, it doesn't matter if they MATCH). Let the shopping begin. I'm sure they'll end up being adorable, and I'll probably end up loving them.

Here is a random picture of Sir Ethan, just one the many disguises he regularly wears around the house. You've just got to love a good imagination. I know I do.
