Scot's version of the cold turned into a sinus infection. I'm sure that mine has turned into a little something extra, I just haven't had the chance to head into the Dr.'s office yet. I'm pretty sure I'm through the worst of it, but I've also had the most mild cold of them all. I'm feeling extremely lucky given the nightmare it's been for the rest of our house.
Scot was diagnosed with SLEEP APNEA recently. He's had most of the symptoms for quite some time, and finally he decided he needed to get it checked out. He went in for a sleep study & they found that he was having 43 episodes an hour, which essentially means that 43 times an hour (every hour he was sleeping) he wasn't getting the necessary oxygen to his brain and organs. It causes you to wake up without you being conscious of the fact that you're waking up - which is why Scot is ALWAYS so tired. He's only been getting about 15 minutes of sleep an hour for who knows how long. Now that we know, it makes a whole lot more sense & I'm a little more understanding of his exhaustion. / : How was I to know? He's sleeping with a CPAP now, which forces 11 lbs of air into his body everytime he breathes in all night long. It's kind of like sleeping with Darth Vader. Its made such a HUGE difference for him already, in terms of his energy level, patience - you name it. He's considering getting a surgery to help fix some of the problem...we just need to consider all the options before we go down that road. Thankfully we have some good friends who can help us make the best, educated decision - and whom we can also trust to do the surgeries. Clark Walker (who is an ENT) and John Tannyhill who is an Oral Surgeon.
