ETHAN'S FINISHED MASTERPIECE

We went to pick up Ethan's finished gift today. He's been saying "Painting. Picture hand. Linda & Bruce. Bruce working." since we picked it up. ( : He doesn't miss a thing & from what I gather, he's excited to give his gift to Linda tomorrow.
Now - onto something else that I find extremely funny. Ethan is a sponge...he picks up on everything & repeats everything that he hears - which is rather entertaining. Last week on the show Dancing with the Stars, Kristi Yamaguchi & her dance partner danced to No Doubt's HEY BABY (which if you watch the show - you know was not performed by No Doubt for competition but the DWTS's band). About 10 minutes after the show ended, Ethan was walking around the house singing "Hey baby Hey baby." He has continues to sing that at random all week - like to my sister Sarah over the phone (which sounded like this "Hey baby hey baby Aunt Sarah."). She loved it. ( :

Fast forward to tonight. My friend Liz Tannyhill and I are addicted to the Flight of the Conchord song Sello Tape - which talks about how love is like tape (definitely worth checking out on YouTube, you won't be sorry). At any rate, the chorus says "brown paper, white paper stick it together with the tape - the tape of love..." & because I've been singing it to myself around the house, Ethan's caught on. I heard him singing "brown paper, white paper" today as he played around the house. To top it all off, when I was rocking him to sleep tonight, in typical fashion - he went through his requests of Sunbeam, Do What I'm doing and then looked at me and said "paper". For a moment I was slightly confused & wondered what he was talking about and then he smiled at me and said "brown paper" to que me in. ( : I loved it - I'm going to keep this kid for sure.

now that is some fine art work. What a cute idea to have him paint pottery as a gift. I'm going to have to put that one in my back pocket. Great pics!

I'm impressed! Not only that you did the activity in the first place, but that the bowl turned out so great!

That is such a great idea - and the bowl turned out so cute! I love it when my kids sing songs around the house. The worst for us is that we love "Guitar Hero" on the wii so the kids sing crazy rock songs.
