FRIDAY, 3/6 - Thanks to everyone for the calls, e-mails, facebook messages etc. I had a fabulous 34th birthday. The kids and I spent the day together, Scot came home from work so we could all go out to an early dinner at Texas Roadhouse, and then Steve and Judie came over after dinner for a little birthday celebration...and then tonight, my youngest sister Sarah flew in for a quick weekend visit. What a birthday treat that was! We had been talking about how much fun it would've been for days, and then this morning I checked flights just to see what we were looking at - and it was a no brainer. We got her round trip ticket for less than $150 the day of her flight.
Ethan was so excited about the prospect of Aunt Sarah coming, he had a difficult time going to bed - he wanted to wait up so he could SEE her. Since her flight arrived around 9:45 PM, we told Ethan he'd just have to wait until morning. Brynn, on the other hand, took the ride with me to the airport...I knew she'd sleep in the car once we got going, and I wasn't sure how she'd do at home. It's a challenge to get Ethan to bed sometimes as it is, so I didn't want to overwhelm Scot. Brynn was an angel.
Ethan utilized every moment he had with Aunt Sarah today. He made her work with him - and lucky for Aunt Sarah, Ethan was able to round up some of his extra gear to share. Sarah loved every minute of it, particularly her loving, sensitive boss.
