We spent the majority of the time following Ethan around from game to game. He was drawn to the car games, one motorcycle game, and pretty much any game with guns (which I was trying to avoid). We did our best to keep him from seeing games that depicted shooting at anything other than monsters, but that was no small task. I finally approved one that he was able to play with
Aunt Sarah, but playing one certainly opened a can of worms. No more gun related video games for Ethan - he now has an obsession with guns. (My brother in law Roy, who is a play therapist for children, said it's nothing to worry about - it's normal for kids, and they're just trying to show dominance). All in all, D&B was a success. Brynn was an angel through our entire outing at Dave & Busters. She sat in her stroller most of the time, and even managed a little bit of shut eye (although with all the noise, it was rather short lived).
Sunday, 3/8 - Judging from the toy explosion that our family room underwent, it's obvious that Ethan did his
best to keep Aunt Sarah well entertained after we got home from church. They played until had exhausted their energies building stuff and playing with toys. That's when Sarah introduced Ethan to one of her favorite computer games, bubble spinner. He was hooked.
After they had played for a while, Ethan could see that Sarah was in need of some good bubble spinner karma, so he made her wear this special hat. Ethan, you're a genius...her bubble spinner score sky rocketed after that.
Sarah was able to stay until Tuesday, 3/10, and then she had to go back to SLC for work. Tuesday morning, we woke up to a snowstorm that caused major traffic issues throughout the Denver Metro area, which in turn caused us to get to the airport just before Sarah's flight was scheduled to leave. We were praying for luck in a delayed plane, but alas - luck was not on our side. They did, however, wave Sarah's flight change fee because of the weather...that was the bright side. The flip side was that she was in Denver for an additional 3 hours that we could've spent together AND she didn't make it back to SLC for her clients anyway, which meant that she could've stayed for the entire day. BUMMER. We enjoyed having her here, as we always do. Please come back soon Aunt Sarah. We love you!!
