understatement... he was THRILLED. He was even concerned about making sure he was wearing the right gear, so at his request, I had to hunt down his Masters hat. So cute.
While Ethan was waiting for his Dad to finish getting ready, he was carrying his golf bag over his shoulder all through the house. That's when I seized the moment to get a couple pictures of him before they left. Scot made sure they had packed both sets of Ethan's clubs, the right handed clubs AND his left handed clubs so that they could try and figure out which direction his golf swing is favoring. We bought the right handed clubs a year ago, and Ethan would swing right sometimes and left other times... hence the left clubs. I love the adoring way our little Ethan looks at his Daddy.
After an amazing morning of golf, we were able to get together with our friends Ken and Brandi Bell and their kids. We've been talking about it for SO long, and we were finally able to solidify a date. Lucky for me, I've had a couple chances to hang out with Brandi (my only roommate when I moved to Co. Springs) for short periods of time twice over the past month. We saw each other at Lizzy's bridal shower a week or so before she had her third baby (a little boy, Zach, to add to her two girls, Savannah and Brooke). Scot and I then met up with them at Lizzy and John's reception & planned this gathering.
We let the kids swim, we had burgers and hot dogs and laughed and chatted until the Bell's had to get the kids home for bed.
Aunt Sarah even got to spend some time holding their new baby Zach (Brooke also took quite a liking to her).
The kids played together perfectly. Ethan and Savannah were running through the yard and would jump in and out of the pool from any direction, occasionally they would stop long enough to go down the slide.
Brynn was the most entertaining of the bunch by far. She proved to be quite the dare devil tonight. She was standing on the slide and jumping off, landing in the pool below. The first time I saw her do it, it scared me to death - but she did it over and over again and was laughing and squealing throughout it all. Little Brooke was just watching from the sidelines, sitting next to Sarah on the hammock. Ethan didn't want to see his friends leave at the end of the night. We're going to have to find a way to get together with Ken and Brandi more often.
