SIMPLY SAID

Ethan loves to be with his buddy Dylan. I often find him out on our back step with him or sitting beside him on the patio enjoying the early morning sun, it's really sweet.

As Scot gets ready to leave for work every morning, Ethan always calls out to make sure he doesn't forget to remember the most important things. "Ethan kiss. Love you daddy. Careful!"

He absolutely loves swimming (and is a little too daring at times). We have gone to the rec center quite often...but his favorite excursions include my friend Liz and her kids, Lauren & Ben. (Ben pictured).

Ethan LOVES being outside, and now that he's figured out how to unlock and open the sliding glass door from our kitchen to the back porch, he'll call out "Ethan go outside, Mommy." Oftentimes, he'll have his bucket of sidewalk chalk, a towel or something to sit on, just in case the ground is too hot & his outdoor shovels. ( :

A few weeks ago, Ethan started doing the crab walk...at least that's what he calls it. He doesn't do it all that often, but when he does he gets his fingers going with the pinching motion and everything.

He can sing the entire song "I am a child of God" without help (he only skips a few words here and there). I think they've been learning it in nursery & he has clearly been listening. ( :

He tries to dress himself from time to time. Recently he picked up his sweatshirt, put it on (upside down), and got the zipper started. Then with complete and utter self satisfaction, he came running in to me saying "Mommy, Ethan jacket on".

I love when he calls out "Mommy, look at me". He will switch out the name for whomever fits the situation. He particularly loves showing off for his friends - Olivia (8), Lauren (6) & Ben (9)...his older friends of course.

He mastered the art of cutting with scissors in one evening...he's now accepting hair appointments, so book early. ( :
He's big into accessorizing, typically with a hat, some shades, a tool of some sort and often times gloves. He has been known to mix things up a bit and add other items he finds around the house, like my shoes (or Scot's), fly fishing gear etc.

Ethan likes to "help" in Grandma's garden (thankfully he's helping BEFORE she's planted anything for the season). He particularly likes this statue of a boy in the backyard & once he finished doing some watering he looked up at him and said "Hey little guy".
