BABY BUMP UPDATE

I'd say there's nothing like a small miracle...I went to my bi-weekly appointment today, and at 33 weeks, I have only gained 11 pounds. Yup, that's no typo - I was shocked & happy to think that I might just come out the winner with this pregnancy (that is as long as the baby arrives happy, healthy & sleeping through the night). I'll pray for at least 2 of the 3 - for starters at least...the sleeping through the night would be way more than a small miracle. For the record, I'm not obsessed with my weight gain, and quite frankly I was surprised at the low number, but since my Dr. seems happy, I'm measuring perfectly, the heartbeat is fabulous and my blood pressure is on the money - you won't hear any complaints out of me. ( : I assure you, it's all downhill with the weight gain from here (we all know how the numbers tend to post in the last month and a half), but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be back in my skinny (or at least skinnier) jeans in half the time. No doubt my stomach will still look like an overly large deflated balloon regardless of the weight gain, but it still feels like a small victory (for now at least).

Holy Cow! I can't imagine gaining 11 pounds - seriously I think I'm at like 30 at this point. I just don't even look when they weigh me because it's too depressing. Oh well what's done is done. And I'm sure I'll gain a pound a week these last 8 weeks. :)

Congrats on having so much self discipline. Pass some my way please!!!

What the? Yeah, I recall the day my doc tried to make me feel better about the weight gain by telling me, "it's better to gain too much than too little!" I think I hit +35 with each kid.

what is your secret Kris?

I have no idea...I'm honestly not sure exactly what the deal is. I was still working when I was prego with Ethan, so I wasn't up moving around nearly as much as I am now & I;m sure I ate out a lot more than I do now - maybe that has something to do with it. I gained 28 or 29 lbs with Ethan & I have 7 weeks left, so anything can happen. You just wait - I'll probably post my numbers at the end of my pregnancy & surpass my weight gain with Ethan. Only time will tell.

Hi! I'm so glad you left a comment on my blog! It's great to be in touch with you again. Remember when we took a girl's trip to Vegas and got attacked by Cleopatra the dog?

Take care and keep in touch! Congrats on the upcoming birth of #2!

Great news! I'm not really good at math...33 weeks...does that mean you only have 3 left??

Well, 3 weeks until they'd consider the baby within the "full term" range, but due dates are figured on a 40 week gestation period.

And Shauri, you're GREAT at math.
