Today Scot took Ethan on a little drive, and when they came home they called for me to come quick - they said I needed to see something. As I approached the door to the garage, I heard Scot say something to Ethan about "Buck".

I must admit, the first Buck that came to my mind was Scot's Uncle Buck (for those of you who aren't family, he has no resemblance to John Candy, nor is his real name Buck - it's Jack...but I won't try to explain). After wondering for a second why Uncle Buck was in town from Durango, I realized that it was most likely an actual buck of the wildlife variety (which would explain Scot's request for silence...though I have been

known to scare Uncle Buck every now and then :).
Sure enough, this is Ethan's friend, otherwise known as "Buck", that was hanging out between our house and the neighbors. He sat there for quite some time eating grass and entertaining Ethan. It was fun for him to

see a deer that close, but now he expects to see what he refers to as his "Reindeer, Buck", everytime we go outside or get into the car.
Maybe we'll be lucky and he'll come back to visit again someday soon. As for Uncle Buck - you can rest assured that we would be just as excited if you randomly showed up to hang out in our yard...the invitation is open. ( :
