If you're happy and you know it...

Ethan started clapping tonight when he saw American Idol. He's clapped before but never on purpose (that I've noticed anyway). He is able to stand unassisted for quite a while & is really stable on his feet...it won't be long until he'll just take off walking. He's growing up way too fast.

We went to the mall today to meet my friend Merideth and 2 of her kids for lunch. Ethan loved playing with Jake and Nathan (ages 4 and 2). After we ate we walked through the mall to do a little shopping/browsing. When we stopped off in Gymboree, Jake and Nate jumped out of their stroller and went straight over to sit on these little chairs to watch the cartoon they had playing on the TV. Ethan sat patiently in his stroller & watched for a few minutes and then decided that he was a big enough to get down and sit with the boys. I got him out and set him on one of the little chairs. He climbed off the chair and climbed right back on to show me (or probably the boys) how big he was. It was so cute.

One of his top teeth finally broke through this weekend - I noticed the entire bottom of the tooth first thing Sunday morning, which was exciting (since that one has been ready to come through for a while). One of these days he'll have enough teeth to actually chew his food instead of having to gum it. ( :
